    November 23, 2012

WEPC' NWE BD Book Q4 2012 release contains review of more than 750 exploration licences in Norway and UK, after 127 new additions from UK Round 27: Outlook for E&A wells include 74 and 118 E&A wells “ready to drill” in Norway and UK, respectively and 101 and 271 licences with DoD or Contingent decisions. Full listing of all licences with E&A status are available in map and list formats. Companies that have taken acreage contiguous to Norway acreage already held include Statoil, Cairn, Noreco, Total, Wintershall and Spring whilst Apache is up and coming for Norway entry.

M&A activity was topped by Wintershall-Statoil purchase/swap transaction, involving Gjøa/Vega, Brage and Edvard Grieg, cash elements, and eventually a large sized gas sales contract (45 bcm); valuation analyses are included in the NWE BD Book Q4 2012 release. Field and Discoveries activities has seen 5 smaller field start ups in UK and Norway whilst Shell's Linnorm rethink and continued cost and scope escalations are evidence that field development projects will not stack up without limits.
